She ran her own Dance Studio in Cape Town and later opened another studio in Johannesburg after relocating to get married. In Johannesburg she completed a Creative Movement course with Nadine Segal while still continuing with modern, jazz and contemporary dance. She later returned to Cape Town and reopened her studio. Gayle is a qualified IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) teacher.
Gayle believes that life takes everyone on many different journeys, and hers led her to eventually stop teaching dance.
Yet, in her heart, she knew that one day she would return to this passion, but when the time was right.
After attending various Pilates classes around Cape Town, Gayle realized that this was the field where she felt most
comfortable and felt passionate about, because Pilates helped rehabilitate her old dance injuries. This left her with a sense of responsibility to pass this knowledge and body awareness onto others, so that they too could benefit as she did.
After extensive research into finding the best Pilates training to suit her goals and needs, she chose Body Control Pilates®, due to their high and internationally recognized standards.
